10.30: The NHS in crisis, Primary Care and the Patient Voice Introductory general points about the conflicting demands on the NHS and how it is organised. The role of patient representation. Discussion on GP services, dentistry and pharmacy problems, the confusing array of clinics, health hubs, wellness centres, minor injuries units, etc. Gavin Ross
11.15: Presentation on the current state of Hospital Services. Our highly paid local health bosses have and are continuing to let us down badly. Hospital services are by far the most costly and must therefore work efficiently or they will drag down all other health services. Gordon Yearwood
12.00: Perspectives on Hertfordshire Adult Care. A discussion on the current position of the service and challenges faced by the service in the future. Dreda Gordon

1.30pm : Light Buffet Lunch - £5 or donations
Speakers: Gavin Ross Secretary of Hitchin and Harpenden CLP since 1994, a past treasurer of the Socialist Health Association. Served on NW Herts Community Health Council and several successor bodies, currently St Albans and Harpenden Patient Group. He is a retired statistician, and has contributed to the Radical Statistics Health Group, which has criticised political misinterpretation of Health statistics. Gordon Yearwood A highly experienced Health Planner. He understands the need to get Primary care, Hospital care and Social care to work together in a properly integrated manner. For 18 months now Gordon has been informing and motivating the public, the politicians and our local health bosses to properly address the inadequate Hospital facilities in West Herts. Dreda Gordon County Councillor for the Colneys Division. Labour spokesperson for Adult care services. Also represents London Colney on St Albans District Council.
